Keep Your Poise

In the midst of a busy season this wisdom from Bears coach Marc Trestman was golden for me!

"Keep your poise in the noise."

I tweeted about it last week, but thought there is too much wisdom in that statement just to leave it at 140 characters or less.

The definition for poise is to be balanced.

In crazy seasons when the volume is turned up, and the noise is becoming deafening it's often times hard to keep from going crazy.

So how do you keep your poise in the noise?

I have found a couple of ways that helps me stay balanced in amongst all the noise.

1. Find your quiet place.                                                                                                                                         For you watching a tv show or listening to a favorite song or maybe just being alone bye yourself helps you stay relaxed and together. Somehow you have to find that thing that will help you turn down the noise so you don't go crazy.

2. Lean into your family.                                                                                                                                    Where would any of us be without our family. They not only deal with their own noise, but will come alongside you and take on the burden of your noise as well. Your family is the one who refreshes, and helps you keep your poise in the noise.

So whether you're in the middle of a crazy busy season or coming out of one, you will benefit your organization, church, and family most if you keep your poise in the noise.
