Home-field advantage has made all the difference in the 2008 crosstown series. So far, anyway.
The White Sox scored a season-high seven runs in the third inning Friday and went on to defeat the Cubs, 10-3, in front of a sold-out crowd of 39,132 at U.S. Cellular Field. Nick Swisher capped the third-inning action with his third career grand slam to knock Cubs starter Ryan Dempster out of the game.

How about this:
Derrick Rose, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft by his hometown Chicago Bulls, threw out the first pitch, wearing a black No. 1 White Sox jersey. Later on in the telecast he did say he was a White Sox fan.

Game #1 goes to the Sox!

  1. Life is good! first the sox win, then we find out Derrick Rose is a sox fan!!! let's just hope he doesn't hurt anything throwing out pitches! Now if Thome would actually contribute...
